My personal favorite spot is on top of a hill with one side of it cut down into a small waterfall, directly north of the yacht maybe a half mile. Try finding a cliff you can build on top of so you won't have to worry about being attacked from the rear.
You want to be able to see a potential attack before they make it onto your territory.
